Recall group SF Guardians endorses Ann, Lainie, and Lisa for school board this fall
SAN FRANCISCO— SF Guardians, the grassroots group that won the school board recall, has decided to endorse Ann Hsu, Lainie Motamedi, and Lisa Weissman-Ward for school board this fall.
SF Guardians ran an open process this week that garnered nearly 400 votes. Over 95% supported the three current candidates.
One group member said, "I absolutely support them and am ecstatic about the impact they've had thus far! Finally parents and families have a voice on the school board!"
"We’re going to put our shoulder behind them 100%," said SF Guardians co-lead Siva Raj. "If we want our school board to stay dedicated to good governance and great outcomes for all our kids, we need to win all three seats this fall — and we will."
"Ann, Lainie, and Lisa are doing exactly what our schools need," said SF Guardians co-lead Autumn Looijen. "They have chosen a promising new superintendent, approved a balanced budget that saves teachers’ jobs, reversed the illegal Lowell decision, and put an end to the mural lawsuit that wasted over half a million dollars in bond funds while our students sat in classrooms filled with mouse droppings."
SF Guardians is now raising funds to support the three candidates in this fall’s election.
SF Guardians was formerly known as Recall SF School Board. The grassroots movement of parents, teachers, and community members won a landslide recall against three school board members this February. After the recall, the group recommended Ann Hsu and Lainie Motamedi for school board, and the Mayor appointed them along with Lisa Weissman-Ward in March.
